Tranquility Salon & Skin Care is committed to serving the communities where we work, and where our employees and customers live. We support many local charities and organizations with the donations of gift certificates of spa treatments, products or a gift basket*
At Tranquility, we are active with Cutting for a Cause. If you are unfamiliar with this, it is a day in which the stylists donate their time to a worthy cause by cutting hair. All proceeds are donated to a charitable organization. Please join us when we hold an event. When we set a date, we will post information locally, in the salon waiting room and in the local newspapers. Keep your eyes open for what is always a rewarding and fun day!!
We are proud to be a participant of Matter of Trust, an environmental group that helps clean oil spills all over the country. We donate our hair clippings to be weaved into mats that can soak up oil and clean our beaches and harbors.
Tranquility Salon offers hair cuts and advice to anyone who wants to donate their hair. There are many non-profit organizations that collect hair donations from the public, making them into custom-fitted hairpieces for children, teens, and adults with permanent or long-term hair loss. We can explain the process and recommend reputable organizations.
In addition to concern for health and the environment, Tranquility is also staffed with animal lovers. Since our opening, we have been involved in helping animal care organizations. Tranquility is also a proud official sponsor of the NHSPCA.
During the Holiday Season we are involved with Toys for Tots, accepting new unwrapped toys for collection and distribution to families in need.
There are many fine organizations looking for help. You sometimes choose organizations, not by their importance, but by when an event touches your life. It is a personal thing and by no means a sign that any one charity is more deserving than another.
Due to the volume of requests received, we regret that we cannot accommodate all of them, no matter how worthy the cause. We do, however, contribute annually to The Alzheimer’s Association.
Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to see where and how we’re helping our community next.
*Gift Certificates cannot be redeemed for cash and donations are given on a per-request basis.
